St Mary's Church Choir
Our robed choir has about 15 members at present… some young - some a bit older, girls and boys – men and women.
We need some new members who enjoy singing and would like to be involved in a friendly community group.
The choir leads worship every Sunday at 9:30am and at some other services throughout the year, e.g. Good Friday, Harvest Festival, Remembrance, Christingle, and Christmas Midnight Eucharist as well as weddings in the church (for which we are payed!)
Our singers enjoy performing a wide range of pieces from English Renaissance sacred music through to modern worship songs as well as everyone’s favourite hymns.
Last year the choir recorded a CD of Christmas music which raised nearly £500 and toured local care homes singing carols. This year, they are recording two services for the BBC Wales "Celebration" programme, due to be broadcast in late June and will raise yet more more funds with another Hymnathon on 11th July.
Rehearsals take place in the Church Hall on Tuesday evenings during term time from 7:15pm-8:30pm.
